Hourly Rate: For short-term services, we will charge at an hourly rate. Just set the number of hours that you need our moving services for, and we'll be good to go!

Things to Keep in Mind When Packing:

Have a Strong Plan in Place: To make things easy, always start with a plan. We recommend starting with the least used items and working your way up to items that are more frequently used. Also, begin packing sooner rather than later to avoid being overwhelmed later on.

Be sure to take apart furniture pieces and keep all of the associated hardware nearby. (Pro tip: place them in a plastic bag and tape to the outside of the furniture so they don't get separated!)

Proper Packing Techniques: Every item is different so it is important to know how exactly everything should be packed. Keep in mind that heavy items should be placed in smaller boxes, like books and dishware, while lighter objects can be packed away in larger boxes, such as pillows and clothing.

Treat Fragile Items with Extreme Care: The last thing you want is to arrive at your destination only to find your fragile items had shattered during the move. To avoid this, be sure to pack all items properly to ensure they are secured while moving. Make sure to have paper, bubble wrap, boxes, and foam on hand to properly package delicate items.

Any glassware should be wrapped in order to avoid breaking while moving, and hollow spaces should be stuffed with paper (newspaper works fine, just don't forget to wash off any ink residue!) Plates should be individually wrapped and placed vertically instead on in a single stack to avoid too much weight being placed on the very bottom plate. Smaller items, like silverware, should be wrapped in bundles in order to keep them together so nothing gets lost or damaged.

Remove Unwanted Staples: It might not cross your mind, but the staples used to hold boxes together can cause damages to items, floors, countertops, and other furniture. An easy fix is to remove all staples and instead secure boxes with plenty of tape. Try to use more tape on the bottom of boxes in order to reinforce the durability of the box. Also, keep a box cutter or a pair of scissors close by to easily reopen boxes when you're ready to unpack and unload.

Things to Avoid When Packing:

Be Careful with Your Valuable Items: Important belongings should not be packed in case they get lost or damaged. In order to ensure they are protected, we recommend keeping these items out of storage boxes:

Items that are Heavily Used Should Stay Close to You: If you know you will reach for something during your move, don't pack it away in a box. Keep useful items outside of boxes and in a secure place that you know will be near you at all times, like a backpack. Some things that you might not want to pack in case you need them include a checkbook for any unexpected payments and your toolbox so you're ready to go when you arrive at your destination.
